Personality Profiling and Player Modelling for Game Adaptation

Players prefer not only different games but also different aspects of individual games. They enjoy different moments, strategies, and levels of challenge. This project explores how adaptive systems can improve satisfaction by modelling behavior, estimating personality traits, and adjusting gameplay to match the desired experience of each player.

The work focuses on a competitive tower defence prototype where a virtual opponent reacts to the player over time. Preliminary analysis indicates links between in-game behavior, Big Five personality factors, and perceived game experience, suggesting a path toward more personal and responsive game design.

Orbit is a space-and-gravity puzzle game where you launch your ship through planetary systems to find a route back to Earth. Momentum, slingshots, and timing are central. Black holes and meteor fields turn each level into a small navigation problem with multiple valid solutions.
